April 23rd //\\// Day 114 //\\// Fake HDR Rays

I saw these great sun rays coming through the clouds but zooming on any cell phone camera is still a horrendous endeavor.

So I wanted to try and capture them and then enhance them. Sadly most of the filters available in any of the iPhone apps tend to exaggerate and blow out any highlights found in an image and so the sunbeams generally completely vanished.

Then I tried the HDR option in Camera+ and the rays looked excellent! Of course, the HDR here isn’t true HDR and it generated some halo effects, but in the end, I’m quite pleased.

About Dave Wilson

I R Photog! Make Purdy Peectoors! Seriously though, I'm a photographer of many disciplines based in Edmonton, Alberta. I just love a great image, whether it's a penny on a sheet of ice or a $100,000 wedding ceremony or a puppy jumping for a frisbee.
