January 4th //\\// Day 4 //\\// Bokeh

A favorite feature of certain lens focal lengths for thousands of photographers is this thing called Bokeh.  Now, I had never heard this word until a few years ago so I’m not clear on whether it should be pronounced “Boca” with a short E sound as opposed to the A, or if it should be pronounced Bouquet.  The technical term for these are circles of confusion but I admit, Bokeh is a nice easy word to use, if you say it how you pefer.

Now, this image of streetlights may be a bit boring, but the point is that with an image like this, you can add it to another, such as my archive image, to add interesting effects.

In the following photo I’ve re-edited One from the Archive using two different bokeh shots and a third party flare generator.

About Dave Wilson

I R Photog! Make Purdy Peectoors! Seriously though, I'm a photographer of many disciplines based in Edmonton, Alberta. I just love a great image, whether it's a penny on a sheet of ice or a $100,000 wedding ceremony or a puppy jumping for a frisbee.
